website-hosting-account-transferIf you have made it to this website I assume you either are in the market for a page of your own or already have one.  If you are not in the latter category and are working on your first site, then I am sure you have many questions that you are looking to get answered.  Two of the most immediate answers you’ll need before anything can get going are what domain name and website hosting package to choose.

The domain name may be a simple problem for you to fix.  As long as you pick something relevant to your niche with keywords included in the name you will be fine.  Do not be discouraged if the name you had in mind is already taken.  It happens.  In fact it happened to me a couple times with some of my sites.  I just had to get my creative juices flowing and come up with a similar but relevant name.  Hosting though is another story.

There are many different hosting packages available and depending on what type of backend features your site will have determines which package you should choose.  Another deciding factor is the support your hosting provider offers.  Needless to say there have been times where my site has crashed at 2 a.m. and having the ability to contact a 24 support team was greatly appreciated.

I just recently came across the Omnis Network who features some very competitive hosting packages.  For what I currently am paying $9.99/month for with hostgator, I could have for $6.95/month with Omnis!  Now this may not sound like a lot to you, but over the course of the year those savings add up.  Not only that, but I would also get a free domain name with my hosting package.

So for future reference I believe I will give them a shot.  I am sure I will need to purchase hosting for a new project in the near future and in the tough financial times it never hurts to save money!
