So after all my ranting and raving of my prior post, the issue actually got resolved. I am not sure if they actually caught a glimpse of what I wrote “I highly doubt it” or my email hit a nerve within them, either way my ad was approved the very next day. Yes, the VERY next day. I cannot complain on the results because I got what I wanted but it took a bit of work to get it done. The least I can do is post the messages between me and Google here to be helpful to anybody else who is going through the “under review” cycle.
Below is the message which I sent to Google and what they responded back to me with.
//My Message//
I was a very happy Adwords customer until now. I have an ad that has
been “under review” for the past few days. It seems that no matter what
changes I make to it, it never is removed from that queue.I want to continue to be a paying customer but that will not happen if I
cannot recieve value for my money. The ad in question is for Aweber Email
Marketing and links to a page landing page which I created on my own site.I would appreciate if you would expedite this process and reply to me with
something other than the standard script below which you send to everybody.“Thank you for your email. We understand that you’re concerned about your
ad’s approval and the visibility of your ads. It appears that your account
is under review, which may be the reason. We periodically review accounts
for security purposes and to verify billing information. We’ll consult a
specialist team regarding the status of the review and will provide you
with an update shortly. We sincerely appreciate your patience”.“We review ads based on the order of submission. Please be assured that
your ads will be reviewed shortly”.
//Google Response//
Hello Michael,
Thank you for your email and I apologize for the delay in response. I understand that, you are awaiting the review of your ads.
Please know that, the amount of time it takes for your ad to be reviewed may vary depending on current ad volumes. Once you create an ad or edit an existing ad, it will be submitted to the queue for approval. The AdWords Specialists review the ads in our program. Please be assured that we are working hard to provide high-quality service.
As of now, some of your ads have disapproved as per our policy on capitalization. Our records indicate that your ad was disapproved because it contains excessive capitalization/punctuation in the 2nd 3rd line of text. Please replace ‘FAST’ with ‘fast’ and ‘FREE’ with ‘free’.
Thank you for your effort in complying with the AdWords advertising policies. You can find our guidelines at http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=guidelines.cs
We have found that Google users are more likely to click on ads that follow our standards. More clicks results in increased traffic to your site, thereby increasing the potential return on your investment.
All other ads have been approved to serve the Google Network.
Sincerely,
Komal P
The Google AdWords Team.
Apparently it was my capitalization of my words that was posing the problem although I only change “Free” to “FREE” during the third edit while trying to find different tweaks that worked. Either way it is resolved. So for those that still have their ad status as “under review” I recommend that you contact Google support to try and get your issue resolved. It worked for me!
