Setting up a backend sales funnel is essential to monetizing your newsletter. This way you have the most targeted traffic possible viewing your ads or services. Now if you are with Aweber you can do this through the auto responder feature which comes free with the service.
An auto responder is a group of pre-set messages that get sent out on a specific date to your mailing list. They can be customized to the users preference and offer a way to automatically manage your mailing list. The glory of this is once it is set up it does not have to be touched again. Yes, look ma no hands!
Set Up Your Auto Responder
When readers subscribe to my email list, they are sent a series emails over the course of (x) amount of weeks. These emails are design to do three things.
- Build a relationship with the subscriber
- Promote my blog and brand
- Recommend products and services that help solve the reader’s problem
The setup for the auto responder is extremely simple. With Aweber, all you have to do is click “Follow Up” in the Message tab. This allows you to create a follow up message to be sent to your new subscriber at a later date. The best thing is Aweber allows you to set up an unlimited number of auto responder messages.
An auto responder sales funnel is where you take subscribers on one end, send them out the other end and have them purchase a product or service you offer. A good practice is to use your Auto Responder Sales Funnel as a series of progressive steps designed meet the readers need. The first email is designed to build trust and authority and should try to sell anything.
I will go into the sales funnel more in future post but I just want to get across how to setup the actual responder and get things in motion. Check out these Aweber Video Tutorials that cover:
- How to Get Started
- Email Newsletters with Free Templates
- Building an Effective Follow-up Campaign
- Adding a Web Form Opt-In to Your Site
I recommend checking out these videos if you are new or considering the service. If you have your email list set up with Aweber but haven’t created the auto responders yet, then these videos are just for you. If you don’t have a mailing list yet, then I recommend you head on over to Aweber and create one right now.
