172966_f520Well my $50 free trial of Google Adwords is over and my feelings are mixed on the results.  My Adwords results were not half bad at all.  With me being new to the program I was a bit unclear on how to set my ad budget up.  I only used the $50 that was given to me to judge the programs performance before I put out any of my own money.  Let me just say that I now understand why they give you $5o

At first I was shocked that they gave such a high amount, well what I thought was a high amount.  Normally offers like they are for $5 coupons and such.  Turns out they knew exactly what they were doing because $50 is spent in no time at all.

Now when I first started my campaign it was doing terrible.  I was getting about a few hundred impressions and 1 or two clicks a day.  This obviously was not the way to make money, so I went and watched a few online tutorials and read some tips.  After applying the methods I learned I boosted my impressions from a few hundred to roughly 15,000 per day.

Unfortunately my ads did not convert into sales but I think I understand the reasoning why.  My product landing pages were to “noisy”, I did not establish myself as an authority early, and my call to action was weak and hard to find.  I really believe that I can make some money selling affiliate products with Google Adwords but only after I fine tune my landing pages for the ads and have a more substantial budget.

Budget

With my total budget for the month being the $50 given through the promotion, I decided to break that out evenly over the entire month which set me at $1.50/day.  Now I realize that budget is what was holding me back so I then bumped it up to $15/day.  Needless to say I blew my budget for the month in roughly 4 days but it was good to see how everything worked.

As I searched through others’ success stories of Adwords, I came across somebody who claimed to make 1million plus dollars though Adwords.  I was very excited to see how his campaigns were set up so I checked his credentials out a bit more.  What I found was that my measly $15 a day was nothing compared to the $5000 per day in which he had his budget set at.

Now it all made sense!  Yes, I do believe I could truly make some income with Adwords if and only if two things take place:

  1. Have a budget that is at least $30 per day
  2. Tweak and fine tune landing pages to ensure a positive ROI (Return On Investment)

Now until I get some more money to put into my Adwords account, I am going to hold off for a minute and learn the who landing page game.  But I am sure that once I do throw my hat back in to the Adwords ring, my experience will be a bit more pleasant and profitable.

Below you can see a screen shot of my campaign results.
